Bio-based building materials manufactured in your backyard.

HUNDRED YEAR MATERIALS

is a Canadian owned, Ontario-based innovator that has developed a range of natural fibre building materials from agricultural byproducts including board, batt, and blown insulations.

ADVANCED SALES COMING 2026

We're lining up resources for our first manufacturing line that will produce a range of natural fibre insulation materials.

THE FIRST OF MANY.

EXTERIOR CONTINUOUS
RIGID
INSULATION

CARBON NEGATIVE.

LOWEST UPFRONT EMISSIONS OF ANY SIMILAR PRODUCT.

CIRCULAR, PROPRIETARY AGRICULTURAL FIBERS SOURCED WITHIN 100 KM OF FACILITY.

HIGH PERFORMANCE.

CO2 absorbed and stored by the plants we use far exceeds the harvesting and manufacturing emissions.

We turn buildings into carbon sinks.

Not all "carbon-negative" products are created equal.

Many wood fibre insulation products require more upfront emissions than conventional petrochemcial products.

Not us.

>90% of raw materials are sourced within 100 km of the manufacturing facility, providing added revenue to a network of co-operative farmers for a currently underutilized resource.

R-values competitive with incumbent natural fibre insulations, and leverages passive heating and cooling effects of natural fibres to keep interior environments comfortable, safe, and healthy.

100% NON-TOXIC

A healthy home deserves healthy materials.

THE LONG TERM VISION

Bioregional manufacturing of whole home solutions near every major urban centre.

Using agricultural byproducts we already produce.

House Frames

Entire subdivisions that use straw to keep warm - we're going to make it normal and we're going to make it cheap.

IMPACT

Implemented as a whole-home solution, we can sequester 15 Tonnes of CO2 per house.

This translates to >7 Megatonnes annually in Canada alone, or 0.5 Gigatonnes in North America over a 10 year period.

PROGRESS

In the past 24 months we've gained significant industry traction, gaining interest from grass roots custom home builders, large developers, and commercial companies producing large infrastructure.

We're only a few steps away from full scale manufacturing, and we want you to get as excited as we are.

Markets

Residential Construction

Our beach head market, sustainability in materials is becoming an ingrained feature of modern home building. Codes are changing to limit embodied carbon, and the building industry is seeking natural alternatives to petrochemicals.

Commercial Infrastructure

With examples like Amazon delivery facilities, and BESTSELLER's Logistics Centre West, a new market is emerging to pair mass timber in large commercial infrastructure with natural fibre insulation products.

Pre-fabrication

As the world attempts to scale housing supply production, pre-fabricated structures are playing an important role in accelerating production. Multiple early products are being developed specifically to meet the needs of sustainable prefabrication companies.

Architectural Acoustics

Natural fibre products offer unique acoustical benefits. High densities, amorphous organic structures, and aesthetic and conceptual appeal make natural fibre insulations ideal for meeting the needs of architectural acoustic application.

Our Team

Garrett Johnson, Dipl. Architectural Tech.  - Founder/CEO

The son of a structural engineer, Garrett has spent his entire life in the building industry, first as a carpenter, then a high performance building designer and detailer.

He's now leading the team for the commercialization of Hundred Year Materials first products, raising over $280k in the previous 24 months, and guiding the technical development of our products. He's achieved impressive results in a short period and will continue to guide the innovation of new products as the company grows.
